Playing zone guide

How the playing zone works

The playing zone is where live Pawn Realm games are created, joined, watched, played, and reviewed. Pick a clock, choose rated or unrated, then either publish a challenge or join one that is already waiting.

Create or join

Use the presets for bullet, blitz, rapid, or classical games. Custom games let you set minutes and increment. Open challenges appear in the lobby for compatible players to accept.

Rated play

Rated games use the rating pool that matches the speed. New rated players start from a provisional 1200. Unrated games do not affect ratings and are useful for casual play or testing.

On the board

Move by dragging a piece or by clicking the source and destination squares. The board tracks clocks, captures, legal moves, draw offers, resignations, rematches, and the final result.

Watch and review

The Challenges page lists live boards that can be observed. Finished games can be shared in the forum with a Pawn Realm game code so other members can replay and discuss the position.

Using the selector

Choose Human for automatic pairing, or Bot for a practice game against the selected computer level.

Human games create an open seek. Guests and bot games are unrated automatically.

Pick one of the quick clocks, or use More clocks for longer games such as 30+0 classical.

Open seeks can be accepted by anyone choosing the same compatible time control.

Etiquette

Only create or accept games you intend to finish.

Play your own moves: no engines, outside help, tablebases, or shared analysis during the game.

Be ready when your challenge is accepted, and keep chat respectful.

Check the seek graph first. Joining an existing challenge gets games started faster.
