Playing zone guide

How the playing zone works

The playing zone is where live Pawn Realm games are created, watched, played, and reviewed. Pick a clock, choose rated or unrated, then send a direct challenge to a member.

Send a challenge

Use the presets for bullet, blitz, rapid, or classical games. Custom games let you set minutes and increment, then choose the member you want to challenge.

Rated play

Rated games use the rating pool that matches the speed. New rated players start from a provisional 1200. Unrated games do not affect ratings and are useful for casual play or testing.

On the board

Move by dragging a piece or by clicking the source and destination squares. The board tracks clocks, captures, legal moves, draw offers, resignations, rematches, and the final result.

Watch and review

The Challenges page lists live boards that can be observed. Finished games can be shared in the forum with a Pawn Realm game code so other members can replay and discuss the position.

Using the selector
